The JAMK programmes offered in English were popular in the autumn joint national application process

The autumn 2017 joint national university-polytechnic application process closed today on Wednesday at 15:00. JAMK University of Applied Sciences had a total of 125 study places available. A total of 2,223 young people and adults applied to JAMK University of Applied Sciences, of whom 1,020 specified JAMK as their first preference. The number of applicants increased on the previous year.

Offered for the first time in the autumn application process, the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in International Business also aroused considerable interest among applicants outside of the EU/EEA, who pay a tuition fee for their studies. 25 study places were pursued by a total of 277 first-preference applicants.

In social services and health care, 20 of the available nursing programme study places were reserved for full-time studies and 20 for part-time studies. There were a total of 156 first-preference applicants for full-time studies and 162 for part-time studies. In the midwifery programme, there were 20 full-time study places available, which were pursued by 187 individuals. There were more than 8 first-preference applicants for one study place in social services and health care.

A new programme now offered in English, the Master's Degree Programme in Full Stack Software Development, is the first of its kind in Finland. The state-of-the-art programme familiarises the students with the entire life cycle of software development: from service design to deployment and maintenance. The programme attracted 38 applicants.

Part-time studies in logistics were once again very popular. The number of places available was 20 and the total number of first-preference applicants 200.

Student selections will be announced on 24 November 2017 at the latest. You may check your own situation from the www.studyinfo.fi service. The studies will commence in January 2018.
