JAMK granted international IUHPE accreditation

A Social and Health Studies master’s degree programme at JAMK University of Applied Sciences has passed the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) accreditation. The accreditation was granted to the master’s degree programme in Health Promotion.

The degree programme was granted the right to use the quality label IUHPE European Health Promotion (EuHP) Accredited, which is valid for three years. JAMK is the only institute of higher education in Finland and the seventh in Europe to pass the accreditation.

To receive the accreditation, a degree programme’s curriculum must meet IUHPE’s quality criteria for European health promotion education.

“Our application described our curricula in detail regarding the teaching methods and assessment criteria, for example. It was also important to describe the competence produced by the degree programme for each quality standard,” says Principal Lecturer Sirpa Tuomi.
