Parallel publishing at JAMK

Parallel publishing means that an article published in a scientific journal will be published on an open publication archive (Theseus at JAMK), where the parallel publications are freely accessible to all, either right away or after a certain embargo determined by the publisher.

At JAMK, the Publication Services will manage the parallel publishing for the author.

Before parallel publishing, the author’s job is to:

1) Publish the article in a publication of their choice. When making a publishing agreement, the author should attempt to keep the parallel publishing right of their article and have at least a verbal agreement of it with other possible authors.

2) Send the final draft of their article to JAMK’s Publication Services by email.

Final draft

The term final draft usually refers to the article version, which the publisher has approved for parallel publishing. Names ‘Accepted Manuscript (AM)’, ‘Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM)’, ‘post print’ or ‘post-refereeing’ are also used for the version. It is a final version of the article, which has already been through the possible peer review, but which does not feature the publisher’s DTP work, such as logos and page numbers.

THAT IS ALL – After this, JAMK Publication Services will find out the publisher’s parallel publishing terms and manages the parallel publication process.
