4. Purpose of maintaining the register

The purpose of maintaining the register is management of JAMK University of Applied Sciences customer and interest group relations as well as marketing and sale of education and service products.

5. Information content of the register

The customer management system contains the following data

  • Alumni (alumni register)
  • Potential customers; individuals and organisations
  • Customer and interest group organisations
  • Contact persons in the aforementioned organisations
  • Activities targeted at customers
  • Education and service products

6. Regular sources of information

The information has been collected from old registers maintained by the JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Excel tables, Kurssiivi database). The information is supplemented and maintained via customer contacts. Alumni, who are interested in joining an alumni association, will be registered into the system when they sign up. Information is updated on the basis of alumni notifications and customer contacts. Customers may join the register by ordering the JAMK newsletter or taking part in JAMK organised raffles and surveys.

7. Regular disclosure of information and provision of information to areas outside the EU or the European Economic Area

No outside parties have access to the information in this register.

8. Protection of the register

The register’s users all have a personal user ID and a password.

9. Right to inspect information and realisation of this right

An individual has the right to check their own information once a year free-of-charge. An inspection request must be issued in writing to the register’s contact person.

10. Correction of information

Personal data will be corrected and altered according to notifications provided by the individual in question. A correction request must be issued in writing to the register’s contact person.

11. Other possible rights

Registered individuals have the right to prohibit the use of his/her information for direct advertising, distance selling and other marketing purposes as well as for marketing and opinion surveys and any other personal registers or genealogy studies. The prohibition shall be marked in the register.
