Teacher Education College

At the Teacher Education College of JAMK University of Applied Sciences, you can study to become a Vocational Teacher, Vocational Special Needs Teacher or Study Counsellor. We have trained vocational teachers since the 1960’s and provided internationally oriented teacher education in English since 1994.

Vocational Teacher Education

Are you interested in working as a teacher? Would you like to acquire a formal qualification that allows you to teach your subject in various educational institutions? Do you already work as a teacher or study counselor, but you lack pedagogical teaching qualification?

Vocational Teacher Education is recognised as pedagogical teacher education by all primary, secondary and higher education institutions in Finland. The education also provides good skills for performing staff development tasks in work communities or for various expert tasks.

The Vocational Teacher Education programme conducted in English can be completed in an internationally oriented study group.

Vocational Special Needs Teacher Education

Vocational Special Needs Teacher Education is further education intended for teachers who have completed pedagogical teacher education and either work or intend to work as a vocational special needs teacher. The education provides you with formal qualification for working as a vocational special needs teacher in Finland.

Study Counsellor Education

Study Counsellor Education is intended for people who have completed teacher education and work or intend to work as a study counsellor. Depending on your previous studies, the education provides you with the formal qualification to work as a study counsellor in all types of educational institutions.
