Lending Information
JAMK Library services are available for students, staff and everyone else, who needs practical information.

Books, theses and CDs: 28 days
Reference books: night and weekend loan
The loan periods: full list.
Renewing loans
Renewal is easiest online on the JaNet library database. Loans can also be renewed by phone, via email or at the library's check-out desk. Loans can be renewed 10 times at the most.
Reserved items cannot be renewed. Fines are collected on overdue items.
An advance notice will be sent to your email address reminding you of the approaching due dates of your loans. Keep track of the due dates yourself because you will have to pay the overdue fines even if you do not receive the reminder, for example, because of an obsolete address or email server failure.
You can change your email address using the Change of address form.
Reservations
Material out on loan can be requested by placing a hold on it. The requested material is delivered to the library unit chosen by the customer.
At the Main Library, Lutakko Library and Music Campus Library you can pick up the books you have reserved from the self-service shelf and check them out at the self-service loan station next to it. If you prefer to pick up your reservations only from the customer service also in the future, contact the Main Library.
Returning loans, claiming and invoicing
Loans can be returned to any library unit of JAMK. There is a drop box at the Main Library. Notices on overdue material are sent by email and overdue fines are collected. Blocked customers are notified by mail. A block is removed when all the fines are paid and the material is returned.
An invoice will be sent for unreturned loans about one month after the block. The customer must pay bookstore price for a lost or damaged item or replace the item with an equivalent one. A video tape or DVD cannot be replaced with an equivalent item. More information: Library Service Fees.
