Information Seeking Guidance
The purpose of the library’s information seeking guidance is to teach you how to choose the relevant information. In our training you will learn to search, locate and evaluate information – and to use it effectively. A set of these abilities is called information literacy, which is essential for your studies and working life.
The library pays special attention to information retrieval skills training. Students learn data acquisition in the courses Learning and Professional Growth and Academic Research. In addition, the library provides the elective online course in English Specialized Information Seeking, ZWRZ0120, 5 ECTS credits. The course starts in January, read more.
The library’s training and guidance on library services, open to all, are effective ways to update existing information retrieval skills, learn how to use new databases or to acquire new competence. Training in English can be reserved for a group by contacting the library.
Students working on their theses or development project reports can get one-to-one guidance in database search problems in Thesis Sauna.
