- developing a new programme for micro and small enterprises in the food industry and services in Central Finland for the years 2007-2013, in which the enterprises and developers are committed to improved cooperation between micro enterprises in the food industry and retail sector
- increasing consumers’ interest in locally produced food
- comprehensive information about and for the sector

The current food industry project is the third one of its kind. The food industry coordination work of JAMK started in 2001.
