Tourism and Services Management

Tourism and Services Management has been chosen as a strategic focus area of the Research & Development & Innovation (R&D&I) unit of the School of Business and Services Management. Consequently, the unit supports and assists companies in developing their business, services and international networks in Tourism and Services management.

The most important regional projects in this field so far are:

• Sustainable Tourism Development
  2010-2011, developing a model for sustainable tourism business in rural areas in four Finnish regions
• In the Countryside Communication Project
  2010-2013, to enhance competitiveness of Central Finland’s rural tourism by improving internal and external communication
• Innovative Products for Well-being Tourism
  2011-2013, to create a model of innovation process that enhances the product development of the networks
• Pro Food Culture
  2010-2013, to develop and improve micro enterprises' possibilities in business in Central Finland
