Become an International Student Tutor!

About two hundred exchange students arrive at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences every year, eighty of them in January. The international tutors of JUA, trained by the student union JAMKO, are in charge of providing peer counselling to the exchange students.

The tasks of the international tutors include, for example, contacting the exchange students before they arrive, helping them with arrangements and meeting them on arrival, and introducing them to their new home town and study environment. While acting as international tutors, the students of JUA complete the International Student Tutoring course, worth 5 ECTS credits.

In order to act as international tutors, the students of JUA participate in a special training preparing them for international tutoring. The next two-day training will take place on 14 and 21 November from 12.00 to 16.00. The training will be provided in English. All the degree students of JUA can participate in the training. Please register for the training by 12 November 2008. You can do it online here.

More detailed information on the schedule and location of the training will be e-mailed to the registered students.
