Side by side with the student

JAMKO, the student union of JAMK, is there for the students and for their interests. The position of the student union is based on the Act on universities of applied sciences, and its task is to look after the interest of the students of JAMK in relation to the University's operations and decisions.

JAMKO also looks after the students' wellbeing. A large group of tutors are trained yearly to support the students. The tutors take good care of the students entering their education programmes. The tutors guide the new students to the wonders of the world of study: from the University's information technology systems and study practices to the numerous possibilities to choose from in leisure time activities.

JAMKO offers students many activities: various kinds of sports, trips, culture events, and unforgettable or soon to-be-forgotten student parties.

Internationality is an in-word today, and JAMKO, in fact, has had great impact on the internationalization of JAMK University of Applied Sciences. JAMKO International Club looks after the degree students and exchange students coming from abroad and arranges for them both Finnish and international experiences. JAMKO's international activities are not directed only to students from abroad - all JAMK's students are welcome to IC's international atmosphere to develop their language skills and to build valuable international networks.

Once admitted to the JAMK University of Applied Sciences, you can also join JAMKO as its member. As a member of the Student Union you will get an official student card, with which you can prove your student status and get student discounts both nationally and locally.
