Academic Calendar 2012-2013

Academic Year

The academic year runs from the beginning of August to the end of July: 1 August 2012 - 31 July 2013. The year is divided into five periods, summer studies are an addition to them.

The schedule of the Teacher Education College differs from the schedule of the other units.

Semesters and Periods

Autumn Semester 2012

• 1st period: 27 August 2012 - 26 October 2012, week 42/2012 is contact free
• 2nd period: 29 October 2012 - 21 December 2012

Spring Semester 2013

• 3rd period: 7 January 2013 - 8 March 2013, week 9/2013 is contact free
• 4th period: 11 March 2013 - 10 May 2013
• 5th period: 13 May 2013 - 18 June 2013

Enrolment Periods

Enrolment for attendance/non-attendance and for courses

Autumn Semester 2012 (courses in periods 1 and 2)

• Continuing students 2 May - 15 May 2012
• New students + complementary enrolment of continuing students 1 August - 9 September 2012
• Other students (Master's Degrees, Teacher Education College, specialisation studies) 1 August - 9 September 2012

Spring Semester 2013 (courses in periods 3, 4 and 5 + summer studies)

• Continuing students 5 November - 23 November 2012
• New students + complementary enrolment of continuing students 2 January - 13 January 2013
• Additional enrolment for period 5 and summer studies 8 April - 26 April 2013

Master’s Thesis Discussion Dates

The students have to submit their Master’s theses with the necessary appendices a minimum of four weeks prior to the desired date. The final assessment is done by the Thesis Workgroups of the schools / degree programmes, according to the schedule given below.
