Graduation

The Master’s Degree is awarded to students who have completed the studies (courses and a development assignment in working life constituting the thesis) of their degree programme in compliance with their personal study plan during the maximum study period.

Applying for a Degree Certificate

On completing the Master’s Degree, students are awarded a certificate in Finnish, indicating

  • the name of the degree and degree programme,
  • a potential specialisation option,
  • the title which can be used based on the degree,
  • the central content of studies, and
  • the name of the thesis.

The degree certificate must be applied for in writing (with a degree certificate application) early enough before the maximum study period expires.

The certificate is attached a transcript of records, which lists the courses completed and grades earned by the student. Students who graduate from degree programmes with instruction in English are also given a translation of the certificate.
Students graduating from degree programmes with instruction in Finnish, wishing to have a translation of their degree certificate or transcript of records, can contact the Language Centre for a translation against payment.

Also before graduation, students can contact the Student Services in order to get a certificate on the studies they have completed so far.
