Do You Want to Advance Your Expertise in Technology?

The Master’s Degree Programme in Technological Competence Management is intended for engineers who work in expert tasks and want to advance their competences in the managerial and planning tasks of the industry.

The objective of the programme is to deepen your competence in the various areas of management and to prepare the participants for development tasks requiring special expertise.

Progress in Your Career and Develop Your Company

Development as an expert in technological competence management will provide you with the opportunity for new, challenging duties and career progress. The masters of engineering can work as developers of their organization's operations and as active generators of new competence. The programme also offers the opportunity for networking and exchange of expertise with student colleagues.

In the master’s thesis (30 ECTS cr), you can apply your expertise to the needs of your workplace through a development assignment. The Master’s degree also provides eligibility for applying to a public office or position requiring a second-cycle degree. Parts of the degree can be completed in English, which will advance your readiness for international tasks.

Core areas of the degree programme:

  • Perspectives to the development of managerial competence
  • Managing and organizing business processes
  • Networking
  • Leadership and its elements
  • Managerial accounting

The optional and elective studies of the programme, as well as the thesis, give you the opportunity to emphasize product development, production or product life-cycle management/maintenance.

Structure of the programme

Flexible Studies at the Weekend

The programme is implemented through multi-modal teaching (contact lessons, online learning and independent study). There are around 2-4 days of contact teaching every month, on Fridays and Saturdays. The optimal completion time of the programme is two years.

The personal study plan enables you to orient your studies and development assignment according to your own and/or your work community’s developmental needs.

Who Can Apply?

You can apply if you have a Bachelor's degree or other relevant higher education degree, and three years of work experience after the degree. The relevance of the degree is determined case-specifically. If you have completed a vocational college diploma (technician) or a higher vocational diploma (engineer) before a relevant degree at a university of applied sciences, no additional work experience is required after the degree, provided that your relevant work experience totals three years.

Application period 5.3.-3.4.2012
