Develop Your Expertise in Management and Progress in Your Career

Managerial education is a basis for managerial and expert tasks in the social and health care sector or, alternatively, for entrepreneurship in the field. You can also act as a change agent or as a general developer, consultant or expert at your workplace.

The master’s thesis (30 ECTS cr) is implemented as a working life development assignment and it constitutes a significant part of the programme.

The students get personal “added value” from networking and the exchange of expertise with the colleagues participating in the programme, as well as from their interest groups.

A Master’s degree provides eligibility for applying to

  • a public office or position requiring a second-cycle degree
  • vocational teacher education

Upon completion of the degree

  • You understand the significance of an innovative service culture, of entrepreneurship in the field and of internationality.
  • You master innovative, proactive and evaluative development and management.
  • You master goal-oriented, interactive personnel management methods.

Content of Studies

The programme consists of advanced professional and elective R&D and management studies and a master’s thesis promoting the development of the field. Based on the personal study plan, you can specialize, for example, in internationality or entrepreneurship.

The programme is multi-professional and implemented in cooperation with international, national and regional partners.

You can study as a part of JAMK’s international network of experts and higher education institutions, thus enhancing your international competence.

Flexible Studies while Working

The programme is implemented through multi-modal teaching intended for mature students (contact lessons, online learning and independent study). It can be completed in 2.5-3 years while working. During the first 1.5 years, there is an average of two weekdays of contact teaching a month.

You also have the right to transfer credits obtained while pursuing prior studies in the field.

The studies are free of charge.

Who can Apply?

The programme is intended for working professionals who have a higher education degree and at least three years of relevant work experience.

The education required:
