Learn to recognize new business opportunities and turn them into successful business. The Master's Degree Programme in Entrepreneurship and Business Competence is primarily intended for bachelors of business administration who have been performing business tasks for at least three years after graduation and now want to proceed to the next phase of their career. Genuine interest in developing operations in organizations, in the productization of new ideas and innovative practices, and in the management of entities contribute to success in studies. The degree programme has two specialization options: Specialisation in International Business Processes Management and High Tech Entrepreneurship, the latter with instruction in English.

The graduates of the programme can work as initiators of change processes in working life and as developers of new business activity. They are able to manage demanding development projects, promote the competitiveness of companies, and to work as entrepreneurs in domestic and international markets.

Development as an expert in business will provide you with the opportunity for new, challenging duties and career progress. In the master's thesis, an integral part of the degree, you will apply your expertise to the needs of your workplace through an extensive development plan or project. You will learn to master R&D methods and obtain tools for developing the practical level of operations.

Networking and the exchange of expertise with student colleagues is also a major benefit of the education. The Master's degree also provides you with eligibility for public offices or positions requiring a second-cycle degree.

The common content areas of the degree programme are:

• Strategic management
• Innovation and development

In addition, the specialization option in International Business Processes Management focuses on financial management and the strategic management of marketing. The central themes of High Tech Entrepreneurship are Project Management and New Business Development.

Flexible Studies at the Weekend

The programme is implemented through multi-modal teaching (contact lessons, online learning and independent study). The contact periods take place about once a month on Friday afternoons and Saturdays. The optimal completion time of the programme is two years.

Based on the personal study plan, you can choose optional studies and orient your development assignment according to your own and/or your work community’s developmental needs.

Who Can Apply?

You can apply for master's degree programmes if you have completed

• a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at a university of applied sciences
• other relevant higher education degree (e.g. Bachelor or Master of Science / Economics and Business Administration, or an equivalent degree completed outside Finland) and
• three years of work experience after the degree
