Strengthen Your Professional Competence to Meet the Developmental Needs of the Field

There is a constantly growing need for automation experts in the industry. We respond to the challenges by offering the opportunity for a comprehensive understanding and mastery of the application principles of automation. You will also broaden your views on business competence, holistic project management and managerial competence.

The Master's degree in automation technology is intended for engineers with a Bachelor's degree in automation engineering or equivalent, who want to develop their professional competence based on the needs for competence in the industry.

Deepen Your Expertise

During the programme you will study, for example

  •  factory local area networks
  •  fieldbuses
  •  internet- and mobile-based technologies in automation
  •  automation safety
  •  project control and management
  •  managerial skills and leadership
  •  business competence

The master's thesis is an essential part of the degree, implemented as a development assignment. It offers the organization the opportunity to develop its operations by integrating the employee's career development with organizational development needs. Part of the study entity can be built according to the individual career development plan!

Study Flexibly while Working

The programme is implemented through multi-modal teaching (contact lessons, teamwork, distance assignments, online learning, laboratory exercises, and independent study). In the group you can mirror your views against those of other professionals and interactively discuss with them. There are normally two contact days a month, one of them during the weekend. The programme can be completed in two years while working.

Progress in Your Career

Development as an expert in automation technology is an opportunity for new, challenging duties and career progress. The masters of engineering can work, for example, in project, managerial and development tasks in the industry. The Master's degree also provides you with eligibility for public offices or positions requiring a second-cycle degree. After the completion of a pedagogical qualification, you will also be able to teach e.g. at universities of applied sciences.

You can apply if you have a relevant higher education degree and three years of work experience after the degree. If you have completed a vocational college diploma before a relevant degree at a university of applied sciences, one year of work experience is required after the degree, provided that your relevant work experience totals three years.
