Library Services
JAMK Library services are open to JAMK students and staff, and anyone in need of field-specific information.
The library offers up-to-date, constantly renewed collections, workstations, study places, and information retrieval training. The services of the library ensure high-quality learning for the students.
The JAMK library card can be used in all library units, and it provides access to online services as well. In the Janet library database one can search for material, be reminded of due dates by e-mail, and check, book and renew loans - even on one's own computer.
The collections consist of books, newspapers, journals and other resources. The library customers have access to the electronic resources of the library through the Nelli portal, which includes thousands of journals, text books and theses, and both Finnish and international databases.
Information Retrieval Skills Training
Students learn information retrieval skills at the beginning of their studies and while doing their Bachelor's Theses. In addition, the library provides the elective online course Specialized Information Seeking (5 ECTS credits).
The library’s training and guidance on library services, open to all, are effective ways to update existing information retrieval skills or to acquire new competence. Students working on their theses can get one-to-one guidance in database search problems in Thesis Sauna.
