Exam Practices

The students have the right to take each course examination three times: the course examination at the end of the course (agreed on with the course lecturer in the course) or two separately determined resit examinations, which can be taken on the general resit exam dates of JAMK University of Applied Sciences or arranged by the units, as agreed with the course lecturer (examiner).

If a student fails three times (including absence and unanswered questions) in the exam, he/she must restart the course from the beginning (possibly according to different course requirements).

Due to potentially coinciding dates of the resit examinations of several courses, it is to the student’s best advantage to try to complete the courses by taking course exams at the end of each course. A failed examination must be completed within the same academic year, and by the end of the following autumn semester, at the latest. If a student fails to complete a course, he/she must restart it in the following academic year. (Please see the Degree Regulations, §18.)
