Completing a Course
In the first contact lesson of a course, the teacher presents the objectives, contents, modes of study and assessment criteria of the course. A potential exam date is also agreed on (course exam), and the end date of the course is specified. After the end date, course assignments can no longer be returned.
The students have three opportunities to complete a course: in the course exam or in two separately specified resit exams. The completion of courses at other educational institutions is determined according to the rules of the organising institution.
A course must normally be completed during one academic year, but in any case, by the end of the following autumn semester. If a student is unable to finish a course, he/she may restart it in the following academic year. The thesis, the practical training and specific workplace-oriented project studies are exceptions to this rule.
No credits are awarded for the completion of courses with identical contents.
