Alternative Modes of Study

JAMK is a multidisciplinary educational institution providing easy access to education crossing the boundaries of traditional fields of study. Students can choose courses from the other schools of JAMK and from an extensive offering of elective and online courses, just to mention a few options.

Sitting in face-to-face lectures is not the only mode of study at JAMK. Part of contact teaching has been replaced by independent study, group work and online learning. The modern facilities of JAMK, including laboratories and learning environments, provide versatile opportunities for learning. In addition to traditional lectures and assignments, our pedagogic methods include e.g. problem-based learning (PBL).

Online Learning

Online learning provides variety and flexibility to studies. JAMK implements numerous courses online, and students also have the opportunity to participate in the online courses of other universities of applied sciences via the Finnish Online University of Applied Sciences.
