In the Degree Programme in Wellness Technology, you will develop expertise in technology, involving the ideation and design of ergonomic and user-friendly technological products. You will learn to apply the areas of technology such as electronics, material technology, automation, and production technology. The completed project assignments strongly contribute to the creation of a comprehensive network in the business world.
Content of Studies
The first two years consist of the basic studies, completed together with the other students of mechanical engineering. The topic areas of the advanced studies include:

As an expert in wellness technology, you will specialize in user-centred design. You will also study rehabilitation, health and nursing sciences. Specific parts of the programme can be completed in our partner institutions outside Finland.
Implementation of Studies
The programme consists of lectures, team and project work, laboratory work, online learning, assignments in the virtual learning environment, and exams. It also includes a practical training completed in companies of the industry, worth 60 ECTS credits. The practical training takes place during the spring semester of the third year. It can also be completed outside Finland.
Eligibility Criteria
Participation in the programme calls for an interest in technology and in the promotion of wellness, as well as in equipment engineering. The project assignments implemented for companies are an important part of studies.
Employment Prospects
81% of the graduates of the Degree Programme in Wellness Technology found a job right after graduation.
The engineers specialized in wellness technology are employed in design or project tasks in trade and industry. Their titles include e.g. laboratory supervisor, production manager or product designer.
Admission Criteria and Applying
You can apply for admission if you have completed general upper secondary education, the matriculation examination or if you have a vocational qualification. If you will graduate during the spring in which you are submitting your application, please refer to your latest school certificate in your application.

Eligibility for Further Studies
After graduation as a Bachelor of Engineering, you can continue your studies at a university of applied sciences. With three years of work experience you can apply for admission to a master’s programme of the field. At the School of Engineering and Technology, you can choose either the Master’s Degree Programme in Logistics or that in Technological Competence Management.
