Degree Programme in Logistics

In the Degree Programme in Logistics, you will learn to utilize, develop and manage logistic systems. You will also be acquainted with the international operating field of logistics

Content of Studies

The common studies include communication skills, natural sciences; the basics of technology, entrepreneurship and management.
Specialization is possible in the following options

  • transport systems
  • materials handling
  • integrated logistics support.

Implementation of Studies

The programme consists of lectures, team and project work, laboratory work and testing, online learning and exams. Part of the studies can be completed in English and outside Finland in our partner institutions. The degree also includes a practical training, completed in logistics companies, worth 30 ECTS credits. The practical training is carried out in three parts as the studies progress.

Eligibility Criteria

Studying in the programme requires an independent and active approach and a desire and ability for holistic self-development, both with regard to technology and economics. The completion of the degree calls for a strong individual contribution. Language skills contribute to success in studies.

Employment Prospects

As many as 81% of the graduates of 2007 had a job upon graduation.

The experts in logistics are offered a wide variety of versatile, interesting and challenging tasks in industry, business and logistics enterprises. Possible job titles include logistics manager, chief buyer, purchasing manager, terminal manager, and transport manager. The graduates can also work as independent entrepreneurs and in teaching positions.

Admission Criteria and Applying

You can apply for admission if you have completed general upper secondary education, the matriculation examination or if you have a vocational qualification. If you will graduate during the spring in which you are submitting your application, please refer to your latest school certificate in your application.

Eligibility for Further Studies

After graduating as a Bachelor of Engineering, you can continue your studies at a university of applied sciences. With three years of work experience you can apply for admission to a master’s programme of the field. At the School of Engineering and Technology, you can choose either the Master’s Degree Programme in Logistics or that in Technological Competence Management.
