The Degree Programme in Information Technology focuses on information network technology. Information networks refer to the networks as such and to the services implemented in networks. The best-known information network is the Internet.

Content of Studies

You will design and implement local area networks, campus networks and core networks in real laboratory environments. You will also learn to design client interfaces (ADSL, WiMAX, wireless LAN) and to maintain networks. Data security is also a focal area of the programme.

Implementation of Studies

Studies are mainly implemented through networks. The modes of learning include lectures, assignments, exams, teamwork and online learning. The highly modern SpiderNet laboratory is available for learning and research. The practical training, an essential part of the degree, is an excellent opportunity to create networks and important contacts in the industry and to be introduced to the operations and tasks of a company of the field.

Eligibility Criteria

Studies in the programme call for the ability to work independently and a desire to learn new things.

Employment Prospects

There is a constant demand for experts of the field, as the volume of networks is increasing in society. New networks must be designed and maintained now and in the future. Information network engineers perform marketing, design and maintenance tasks in the companies of different sectors and in public sector organizations.

You can apply for admission if you have completed general upper secondary education, the matriculation examination or if you have a vocational qualification. Eligibility for Further Studies

The graduates of the degree programme are eligible for further studies in the master’s degree programmes of the universities of applied sciences or for master’s programmes in information technology at universities.
