Study to Become a Business Expert!
The Degree Programme in Business Administration will provide you with business competence through collaborative learning. You will be able to create a business plan, market and sell, apply your know-how of responsible leadership, and master bookkeeping and budgeting. You can apply international business competence to practical situations. Problem-based learning is implemented and applied in the programme. Analysis, cooperation, interaction and problem-solving skills will prepare you for the challenges of the world of work.
Do You Want to Become a Professional of the Financial Sector or the Sports Business?
The first year of the programme consists of the common basic studies. All the students study entrepreneurship, marketing, financial administration, management, and international business. In the professional studies, you can choose one of the following orientations:

You will create contacts with the industry through projects and assignments and by working with the partner companies of the programme. If you intend to start your own business, you will receive individual guidance related to the promotion of business.
The programme emphasizes internationality. Part of the programme is taught in English, and you can choose language courses according to your interests, and even start to study a new language. Parts of the programme can be completed in one of our over 50 partner institutions outside Finland, and the practical training can be carried out in a foreign company or organization. In the year 2008, our students participate in exchange, for example, in the following destinations: Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Slovenia, China, Argentina, Germany, Spain, France, Russia, Switzerland, Austria, and Belgium.
Implementation of Studies
Studying is based on a personal study plan. The degree programme applies problem-based learning methods, involving the solving of practical business cases and the implementation of projects. Studying is also possible online and in foreign languages. Studies alternate from knowledge-based theory to its application to practice. Our extensive partner company network in Jyväskylä, a rapidly growing regional centre, offers students many opportunities for practically oriented studies. In the year 2007, our education was regarded as being of a high quality and based on expertise by over 90% of our graduates.
Eligibility Criteria
To complete the Degree Programme in Business Administration, you need to be goal-oriented, keen to learn new things, and willing to become an adventurous business expert.
Work experience facilitates studies and the comparison of new things against prior learning and experiences. If you are already working, you can have your studies tailored to contribute to the development of your tasks.
The programme enables supervised studying among professionals.
Employment Prospects and Tasks
As a bachelor of business administration graduating from the programme you will have a strong business thinking ability and a holistic approach to development.
You will be employed in trade or business services, in the duties of the state, municipalities, parishes, associations and organizations, or in the banking and insurance sector. Most graduates are employed in expert, development, project and managerial tasks.
The graduates work in a variety of positions, such as bank employees, project coordinators, sales managers, financial assistants, shop managers and entrepreneurs. Progress in business life depends on your know-how, motivation and networks. There are plenty of opportunities available. The employment rate is high: 84% of our students are employed right after graduation.

Eligibility for Further Studies
After your graduation as a Bachelor of Business Administration, you can continue your studies at a university of applied sciences. With three years of work experience you can apply for admission to a master’s degree programme of the field. The graduates of the master’s degree programmes offered by Finnish universities of applied sciences are eligible for admission to postgraduate studies at universities. The universities set their admission criteria individually for each case.
