In the Degree Programme in Automation Engineering, you will learn to design the continuously developing automation of industrial production lines. You will plan the purchase of new devices, master the latest technologies of automation, and be able to work as an expert of the field.

Content of Studies

The contents include PC-based automation systems, robots, programmable logics, process and control room computers, intelligent sensors and control devices. You will learn to design the automation of industrial processes, production lines and products. The programme also provides a solid knowledge and skills base of electrical and process engineering. The practical training, laboratory work and projects are an essential part of the programme.

Implementation of Studies

The programme includes contact lessons, assignments, exams, team work and online learning. The up-to-date equipment and toolkits of the automation laboratory provide a practically oriented learning environment. The studies also offer the opportunity to participate in projects in the industry. Through the practical training, you can create networks and important contacts with future employers, as well as familiarizing yourself with the operation and tasks of a company in the field.

Employment Prospects

The graduates work as design engineers, automation and application designers in production plants, and as project managers/engineers. There is a high demand for experts in automation engineering – the employment rate of our graduates is currently 100!

Admission Criteria and Applying

You can apply for admission if you have completed general upper secondary education, the matriculation examination or if you have a vocational qualification. If you will graduate during the spring in which you are submitting your application, please refer to your latest school certificate in your application. The application period is in the spring. Eligibility for Further Studies

After your graduation as a Bachelor of Engineering, you can continue your studies at a university of applied sciences. With three years of work experience you can apply for admission to a master’s programme of the field. You can complete professional specialization studies or continuing education while working.
