Time Management
Are you always in a hurry? Do you feel that you do not have enough time for all the things you want to accomplish? Are you stressed for undone tasks?
Time management is an important part of learning skills and life management. An unplanned assignment is a huge consumer of time, and undone work is the greatest cause of stress. An overloaded schedule reduces motivation and the quality of studies.
Fortunately you can train and learn time management. Planning the use of time is, in a way, "self-management". Finding clever ways to use your time facilitates and accelerates the completion of assignments, which makes your studies progress fluently. This often means more leisure time as well.
Personal Learning Plan (PLP) and Time Management
Linking the Personal Learning Plan (PLP) and the time management plan together facilitates the completion of studies. The plans must also be continuously updated.
The follow-up and planning of the use of time do not take a long time. It is important to first set realistic plans and prioritise tasks. Analyse your own use of time and focus on the essential. It is important to take action instead of just complaining about the lack of time.
The most important things should be completed as early as possible, yet avoiding overloading oneself. In particular, if your earlier plans have not been efficient, set yourself deadlines and plan your tasks based on your degree of alertness. Remember that a plan must have some flexibility.
When you have reserved time for e.g. reading for an exam, you must also take care that you use the time effectively and expediently. Try to divide your studies into smaller components in order to not waste time on superficial work in terms of too large assignments.
Furthermore, try to anticipate the future to avoid unexpected peak periods. Most of your daily activities result from your individual choices. Try to find a calendar technique which suits you.
Take Care of Yourself
In order to ensure your coping, leave enough time also for leisure activities, rest, family, and friends. When you are busy, you may find physical activity a waste of time, but in reality, it will later reduce the feeling of stress. Fitness improves your stress tolerance. Eat healthy, sleep enough, and do some form of sport and outdoor physical activity on a daily basis. This enables you to study efficiently and enjoy your free time!
