Transition to Working Life
When you have completed all your studies and written your thesis, it is time to apply for a degree certificate and actively look for a job. Good job-seeking skills are useful, as well as the contacts with employers created through projects, practical training, and the thesis. The employment rate of JAMK’s graduates is high.
JAMK’s Career and Recruitment Services give students tips for planning their future and for job search, as well as providing information on jobs, practical training placements, and thesis assignments.
Alumni Activities
The word alumnus/alumna refers to former student. Alumni activities imply networking: the alumni meet each other, current students and other representatives of the educational institution. News from the field are also useful to current students creating their career plans. The alumni meetings provide the opportunity to hear how your former class mates are doing, and to meet professionals of various fields. Further information on alumni activities
Continuing Education and Further Studies
Open Studies
The Open Studies of the universities of applied sciences offer you possibilities to add to your professional competencies or to develop your general education in various subject areas. As the Open Studies include studies that are part of the degrees provided by universities of applied sciences, you can upgrade your competences, or you can expand them by taking courses from other fields of education. You can also take courses that are included in the master’s degrees. A full master’s degree cannot, however, be completed through Open Studies. Further information on Open Studies
Professional Specialisation Studies and Continuing Education
Bachelor’s degree graduates can enhance their competence in many ways, e.g. through professional specialisation studies or other continuing education, completed while working. Further information on continuing education
Teacher Education
Bachelor’s degree graduates can apply for admission to vocational teacher education to obtain teacher’s pedagogical qualification, if they have the education and work experience required for a teaching position at a university of applied sciences or a vocational institution. Master’s Degrees at Universities of Applied Sciences
Admission to Master’s degree education can be applied for after three years of work experience and a relevant Bachelor’s degree or other higher education degree. Further information on Master’s degrees at JAMK
University Education
Bachelor’s degree graduates can also continue their studies at universities or other higher education institutions. The applicants may be required to complete complementary studies.
Research and Development Projects
The purpose of JAMK’s R&D activities is to promote the development of companies and organisations. The graduates can participate in the R&D projects as representatives of their organisation. Further information on R&D
