JAMK offers you an international atmosphere for studying. To support your stay in Jyväskylä we provide many kinds of services, including tutoring, orientation and Friend Family programme. We hope you will find the following information useful for your exchange period.

Application period for studies in the next autumn semester or the whole academic year is open from 15 March to 15 May.
The application period for the double degree programmes is the same as the application period for the whole academic year. The only exception is the Information Technology for IT-PRO for which the application period runs from 15 March to 15 April. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be processed.
Application period for studies in the next spring semester is open from 15 September to 31 October.
How to Apply for Exchange
Semester dates
Academic year: 22 August 2011 – 18 June 2012
Classes for exchange students run as follows:
Autumn semester: 29 August 2011 - 16 December 2011 (Please note that the first and last dates of classes may vary at different schools!)
Spring semester: 9 January 2012 - 11 May/18 June 2012 (Please note that the courses usually end by 11 May. The semester lasts until 18 June only if the student has enrolled for courses in the 5th period – so called Summer studies - as well).
Orientation for Exchange Students takes place at the beginning of each semester, providing useful information on staying in Finland and studying at JAMK. You are expected to participate in the orientation to receive all the essential information concerning your studies at JAMK. The orientation in the spring semester will be held on 9 and 10 January 2012. Arrival
Student Union JAMKO employs student tutors whose task it is to help the incoming exchange students with practical matters such as planning the studies and getting around in Jyväskylä. Your tutor will get in touch with you after you have received the official letter of acceptance. Confirm your arrival date and time by e-mail to your tutor no later than three weeks before your arrival. Orientation will be held at the beginning of each semester. Participation in the orientation is highly recommended.
