Welcome to JAMK

JAMK is one of the most popular universities of applied sciences in Finland. It is located in Jyväskylä, a student-friendly, human-sized city offering a wide range of activities and opportunities, surrounded by Central Finland’s numerous lakes and immense forests.

We provide our students with excellent services. For international students we offer tutoring, orientation, and a friend family programme. Our libraries are well-equipped and provide free computer services and Internet access. We arrange Finnish language courses for our international students, as well as courses in other languages. The efficient, yet relaxed atmosphere of JAMK guarantees an enriching Finnish studying experience.

Application period to Bachelor's degrees ended last Friday 12 of February 2010. The total number of first-preference applicants to JAMK was 1 420, and student intake is 190 (to five programmes). Entrance examination invitations or decisions on eligibility are posted by mail from 12 March onwards. Detailed information on places and dates will be sent to the applicants in the invitation letter. Results are announced on 28 May 2010, at the earliest. Admitted students must confirm their study places by 3 August 2010 at 4.15 p.m. Finnish time, at the latest. Studies will begin in the middle of August 2010.
