Transfer students

Students entitled to study at another Finnish university of applied sciences/polytechnic, wishing to complete the corresponding degree in the corresponding degree programme at JAMK, may continue their studies at JAMK. Transfer students apply and are approved according to the regulations of JAMK regarding transfer students. A student already studying at JAMK may also apply for transfer to another degree programme within the same field of study, if the selection criteria for the education have been the same in both degree programmes.

The maximum study period of the transfer student has started in the first university of applied sciences / degree programme, and it does not start from zero after the transfer. The Head of Programme decides on the accreditation of the prior learning of the transfer student.

Additional requirement concerning the school of health and social studies

The admission of such transfer student whose right to study has been revoked in another educational institution based on one’s health or ability to function and whose right of study has not been restored later on the basis of a medical certificate, are considered separately. If a transfer student who has been selected as a student has at the application stage concealed a previous revocation of right to study, his/hers right to study may be revoked. (Polytechnics Act 352/2003 a §, 1 subsection)

Application time ends 15 of May.
