Transfer students

A student of another Finnish university of applied sciences/polytechnic, wishing to finalize ones studies at JAMK may apply for transfer.

A student already studying at JAMK may also apply for transfer. It is possible to apply to another degree programme within the same field of study if the selection criteria have been the same in both degree programmes.

Transfer students apply and are approved according to the regulations of JAMK regarding transfer students. The maximum study period of the transfer student has started in the former university of applied sciences/degree programme, and it does not start from zero after the transfer. The Head of Programme decides on the accreditation of the prior learning of transfer students.

Degree students of a foreign institution cannot apply for transfer, however, the admission can be received via the joint application which starts yearly on January.

Additional requirement concerning the school of health and social studies

The admission of such transfer student whose right to study has been revoked in another educational institution based on one’s health or ability to function and whose right of study has not been restored later on the basis of a medical certificate, are considered separately. The right to study may be revoked if a selected transfer student has concealed a previous revocation of right to study. (Polytechnics Act 352/2003 a §, 1 subsection)

The application period ends 15 of May 2013. Requests for application form: admissions(at)jamk.fi
