Discretionary admission at JAMK 2012

To be eligible it is necessaryn that NON-EU/EEA CITIZENS have the final school certificate(s) and NON-EU/EEA CITIZENS also need have English language proficiency certificate (e.g. IELTS or TOEFL).

However, if it is impossible for the applicant to provide these certificates one can apply via discretionary admission. This means that if there are not enough eligible applicants JAMK can invite applicants to the entrance examination based on the certificates applicant provides for us.

If an applicant wants to apply via discretionary admission the following steps need to be taken. First applicant fills the application form on internet www.admissions.fi. After filling the form an applicant sends copies of the school certificates and possible translations or/and English language proficiency certificates and possible other certificates to JAMK's admissions office. The attachments must arrive to the admissions office before the deadline 24 February 2012 4.15pm (Finnish time) by post or via delivery services. Based on the documents JAMK/the head of the degree programme decides whether or not the applicant is given a chance to participate to the entrance examination.

As a conclusion, all eligible applicants are invited to the entrance examination, but applicants applying via discretionary admission have only a small chance to be invited to the entrance examination. In discretionary admission the applicant is evaluated by the result of the entrance exam only.

Contact universities of applied sciences to which you have applied by using discreationary admission, because the other UAS' might require additional forms or information concerning your educational background.
