We Educate Professionals of Welfare and Health Promotion
The School of Health and Social Studies is a well-esteemed education provider and a sought-after development partner of businesses and organisations in the field of health and welfare.
Our strength is in a versatile learning environment, motivated students who are genuinely interested in the field, our know-how in welfare entrepreneurship, and our R&D activities, which support regional development. Our strengths also include the personal career paths we build for our students.
Competitive Competencies
The education we provide is future-oriented and practical. Experience has shown that it meets the needs of the labour market extremely well.
We offer bachelor's degree programmes in physiotherapy, rehabilitation counselling, occupational therapy, nursing, and social services. The degree programme in nursing is taught both in Finnish and in English. In addition to youth education, we offer bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes for adult learners and continuing education courses that can be completed while working full time.
International Environment
The exchange students, visiting lecturers and international nursing students coming from all over the world create an inspiring international study environment. The students and representatives of our staff who go abroad for exchange studies or teaching assignments also bring back valuable international experiences and know-how.
Strong in Research and Development
The knowledge and competencies that we generate through our R&D activities is distributed in the form of training and professional services. We also offer our students possibilities to participate in R&D projects.
Our R&D focuses are
- promotion of the health and functional ability of the aging population
- life-long learning and development of the know-how in the field of welfare, and
- prevention of social exclusion and minimisation of health differences
Come and work with us to promote health and welfare!
