Promotion of families’ wellbeing and health

Deficiencies in the wellbeing of children and young people, gaps in service structures and safety nets and insufficient family counselling are examples of the tough challenges facing society today. We are responding to these challenges by training experts, producing, commercialising and piloting new work models, social innovations and service concepts for the market.

In terms of content, our activities focus on the following in family research:

• applied research related to family phenomena,
• development and piloting of methods for family work, family counselling and family nursing,
• intervention research,
• product commercialisation,
• customer service activities, and
• education and teaching.

Our expertise is based on

• a practical approach and monitoring of the health and wellbeing of the family/individual,
• the creation and commercialisation of a family service concept, and
• smart solutions to ease everyday family life.

The core of co-operation comprises JAMK, the University of Jyväskylä and the National Institute for Health and Welfare. The more extensive co-operation network includes both Finnish and international partners. The central working life partners are municipalities, dioceses, associations, companies specialised in care-giving, and the Central Finland Health Care District.
